Self-Worth & Fit Minded
THE FOUNDATION OF FIT MINDED
Fit Minded is based on self-worth, defined as the value you have in yourself.
Often societies focus on the physical domain of self-worth related to how we look, our strength and our ability to play sports etc., and this defines how we value ourselves related to the physical activity. Fit Minded focuses on the other domains of self-worth.
Through knowledge (learning and education), social (support from others), and emotional (dealing with life events, stressors) self-worth we may be able to increase our overall self-worth and therefore maintain our physical activity participation.
It is important to note that Fit Minded is designed to help increase the domains of self-worth other than the physical by helping you build your self-confidence to participate in physical activity, learn how to organize and plan for physical activity, change your perceptions of the costs and benefits of physical activity, and learn how to access social support for physical activity.
